Is Level Ground merely a charity? We are all about restitution but what makes us unique in South Africa?

Proverbs 19:17
He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

• We are not simply a charity – we are motivated by a need to provide restitution for the wrongs of the past and to help others do so.
• We are also motivated by our love for people which is made possible by a relationship with Jesus Christ. God’s very heart is for the poor and oppressed and we, being Christ’s body (the Church) desire to express the love of God to others.
• We are not a hand-out association; we don’t simply give people houses. We build relationships and equip people to live a better life.
• Although some may rent, we encourage ownership and responsible financial management
• We also help those that require legal assistance towards owning their own house.
• We (being the committee) are all trying to “practice what we preach”.

Proverbs 11:24-25
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
